I remember the first time I downloaded Tiktok, what a fun app I thought to myself. Scrolling through all of the different videos, discovering what content I liked and didn't like. My favorite part was laughing at all the goofy videos and following my favorite Tiktok content. I never thought that I would be able to meet a Tiktok star and be able to ask him any questions I wanted.
But, the Public Relations student organization and I were lucky enough to meet Reggie Bell! Reggie Bell is an up and coming famous Tiktok star who nearly has half a million followers on Tiktok! Not only does Reggie make hilarious Tiktok content, he also graduated from Ferris State, was a star quarterback, and is currently a motion capture actor for the video game Madden! Talk about a guy who does it all!
How does he do it?
Reggie transferred from Eastern Michigan when he came to Ferris and played quarterback for two years. After Reggie graduated he started making content on YouTube. Soon after, Reggie decided to start making videos on Tiktok and it only took a couple months before a video blew up, reaching 3.3 million views. Reggie gets into character by walking around the house preparing for whatever character he is about to preform. Reggie has a few different characters on his Tiktok that he uses for different content. When we asked Reggie how he came up with his content, he said he will just listen for sounds that he thinks he can use. When he finds a sound he'll save it and come up with a skit to match. When Reggie shoots his footage, he does everything himself from the different characters to shooting all the angles. Reggie hopes that he will soon start creating his very own sounds.
Reggie Bell is more than just a famous Tiktok star
As awesome as it is that Reggie is an up and coming famous Tiktok star, he also does motion capture acting for Madden. Reggie wears a skintight bodysuit with sensors all over his body
while the camera records his movements. With Reggie’s background as a quarterback his athleticism has been very beneficial in his motion acting career. When Reggie works for Madden, they fly him out to LA to act as a character in the game. Reggie said that this is one of his favorite things to do.
Final thoughts
It was so fun being able to meet someone who has accomplished so much at such a young age. Reggie had so much valuable information to share with the group, all while making it interesting. It was inspiring to hear from a Ferris alumni to see how far we can go from here. A few years ago Reggie was a student at Ferris State and now he is flying across the country to be a motion actor, while succcesfully making Tiktok content.
